Look in the mirror beautiful

At this time of the year we can be particularly harsh on ourselves when it comes to our appearance.

In holiday season we’re expected to frock up for all those parties, brave the beach in a bikini (or swimwear of some description), bare our party feet in heels and put our best face forward (even though we can count on both hands the number of extra wrinkles we seem to have accumulated during the year). We worry about putting on weight, but party season is hardly the time to worry (especially as there’s hardly any time for exercise). We’re tired, frazzled and often sizzled (and maybe sozzled) in the heat, and in our stress and snappiness we’re not likely to see much beauty where it is plain to see, in the mirror, in our own eyes.

So this week’s one minute #peptalk (thanks for the feedback on the first one) is and ode to how beautiful you are. You’re welcome.

(I’ve shown my face in this one, because we’re talking about beauty and all! Fresh (or not so much) from work, no make-up touch-up – in the spirit of kindness and non-judgement).

One more reminder:

Alright, one more:

And at the heart of beauty is love

And at the heart of beauty is love

Are you a beauty hunter?

(PS – what do you think of the mirror in the image? – I mosaiced the frame myself, back in the days when I had both creativity and patience).

Linking up with the lovely Grace for FYBF.

You have such a great voice for this, Kathy. No wonder you used to be a TV reporter! Thanks for the pep talk. I’m hoping to get a lot of use out of my waterproof mascara this year. We all need a good laugh xx

I adore that quote. If you only look for beauty… I’m going to do that every waking moment from now on. Or at least I’ll try… even when I look in the mirror. You were born for television Kathy 🙂 The mirror is gorgeous. It looks like something you’d pay a lot of money for in a homeware store.

That mirror took me so long to make but I guess it is a thing of beauty. Glad you like the video and quote. My TV days feel like such a long time ago (back in the non-wrinkly days).
